ALL PEOPLE ACTIVE FUN FITNESS 4 WOMEN IS A KNOCKOUT!
All People Active’s Fun Fitness 4 Women programme goes from strength to strength as APA’s flagship project, as it was the first project that the MK based CIC launched back in 2018.
In partnership with Milton Keynes Council Family Centres, Grid City Fitness, and as part of the #MKGirlsCan programme, All People Active deliver ‘APA Fun Fitness 4 Women’ from family centres in Netherfield, Fullers Slade & Bletchley.
We deliver Fun Fitness 4 Women at a time and in a style that suits the ladies best; so either straight after drop off at school or nursery in the case of the Hedgerows session in Netherfield, and just before pick up time at DaisyChain in Bletchley & Rowans in Fullers Slade.
Fun Fitness 4 Women is a mixture of circuit training, boxing fitness, games and active challenges; and ladies are encouraged to work at a pace and intensity that suit them but to also push themselves, but in a friendly and informal way; no military style fitness boot camps here!
Milton Keynes Council also offer a crèche service at the same time of the ‘Fun Fitness 4 Women’ sessions as we know that a lack of affordable childcare is a real barrier that prevents so many ladies from getting out the house and being active, healthy and happy!

I have been overweight for roughly about 20 years of my life. I wanted to lose weight but was never confident enough to exercise on my own or worst with people who were more agile because I felt I would look fat and lazy next to them. Now being a mum of 3 with the youngest aged 1-year-old, I started to feel that it would be impossible to find the time, money and childcare to even attempt a new fitness journey. My weight and fitness levels has been ongoing for so many years that I had actually given up.
While at the children centre with the 2 youngest ones, I was invited to try out a fitness session with Coach Farah. I was told childcare would be provided and immediately I thought, “I don’t have an excuse now”. I imagined going to the session and seeing all these very fit mums who only wanted to maintain their weight and my anxiety kicked in. Florence, from the children centre followed up with me about attending and I felt that since she made the effort that I should actually give it a try.
I arrived to my first session and immediately Coach Farah made me feel welcome. I looked around and while I was still the largest mum there, the atmosphere was very friendly. We started my first session with a warm up and then went into the physical activities. Coach Farah gave me alternative ways to do activities that I would have otherwise struggle to do.
After my first session, I was dripping in sweat and I felt accomplished. I know that if I could have more sessions with Coach Farah, I would become more agile and ultimately lose weight.
